With permanent reconstruction work scheduled to begin in October along a section of County Road 43 damaged in last year’s flood, Larimer County officials will join other project partners in hosting a public meeting Tuesday, Sept. 30, at the Estes Park Town Hall.

The meeting will start at 6 p.m. and include representatives from Central Federal Lands, the U.S. Forest Service and American Civil Constructors, the general contractor selected earlier this month to rebuild the 10-mile stretch of road between Drake and Glen Haven.

During the public meeting, project officials will give an overview of the work to be done, discuss the approach being taken to improve the roadway’s resiliency and share ways the public can stay informed throughout the project.

To expedite construction, crews will initially work along a two-mile section of County Road 43 bordered by Forest Service land, gradually expanding into other areas as right-of-way becomes available. The entire project is scheduled to be complete by the end of 2015.

The Estes Park Town Hall is located at 170 MacGregor Avenue. For more information on this project, call 800-536-4403 or visit www.lcr43.com to sign up for email updates.
